Ken Grady is an Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University College of Law and a member of the LegalRnD Faculty. A thought leader in the legal industry, Ken writes and speaks on technology and law, innovation, and the future of law. His research explores the application of natural language processing to legal texts and the normative, governance, and integration issues arising from artificial intelligence and blockchain in law and legal services.

Ken’s articles and posts have been featured in online and print media publications. He is the editor and author For The Algorithmic Society (Medium), a Medium Top 50 writer on innovation, and was editor and principal author for SeytLines named to the ABA Journal’s Blawg 100. He has earned a number of accolades during his career, including being elected a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management, named to the Fastcase 50 honoring law’s “smartest, most courageous innovators, techies, visionaries, and leaders,” and honored by the Financial Times for innovative leadership of in-house counsel/outside counsel relationships.

Ken is trained in lean thinking having studied at the famed Japanese firm Shingijutsu Co. Ltd. under Yoshiki Iwata, an original member of the Toyota Autonomous Study Group that developed the Toyota Production System.

Ken was CEO of a legal services consulting firm, held general counsel roles at Fortune 1000 corporations and executive leadership positions in Fortune 500 and 1000 corporations, and was a partner in an AmLaw 50 law firm. Ken was a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) for 14 years, and served as a member of the ACC’s Board of Directors, its Value Challenge Steering Committee and its Advocacy Committee. H received his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law and his Master of Management from the University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
